The standard Stochastic RSI has a well-known problem. It spends long stretches in overbought and oversold territory during trends, and it generates signals in both directions continuously when the market is ranging. The calculation itself is sound but it has no mechanism to know when its own output is unreliable. Most traders end up filtering it manually or ignoring large portions of what it produces.

Ultra Stochastic RSI keeps the core Stochastic RSI calculation and replaces everything around it. An R-squared adaptive engine adjusts the oscillator in real time based on how strongly price is trending. An R-squared trend gate suppresses signals when the market is in a strong directional move, solving the overbought and oversold persistence problem directly. ADX blocks ranging conditions. A cooldown prevents repeated triggers in the same move. What remains is the Stochastic RSI at its most useful, signals from extreme zones in conditions where the reading actually means something.

How To Use It

Use the defaults to start. RSI period and Stochastic period are both 14, which works across most timeframes. The R-squared trend gate at 0.6 handles the most common failure mode of the standard Stochastic RSI automatically. Watch for %K crossing %D from extreme zones and confirm direction with the 200 EMA badge. Set the strong cross alert for trend-aligned, high-conviction entries only.
