The standard RSI is useful, but on its own it tells you very little about whether an extreme reading is actually meaningful or just noise. Smart RSI adds Bollinger Bands directly onto the RSI line, so you can see not just where RSI is, but whether it is at a statistically extreme level relative to its own recent range.

When RSI is in oversold territory and simultaneously touching or breaking below the lower Bollinger Band, that is a high-probability exhaustion signal, not just an RSI reading below 30. The same logic applies on the bearish side. This combination filters out a significant portion of false signals that a standard RSI would generate on its own.

The RSI line is smoothed with a fixed EMA-3 to reduce noise without adding meaningful lag, and the line changes color automatically when entering overbought or oversold zones so you see the state at a glance.

Key Features

• Bollinger Bands on RSI. Adds statistical context to RSI readings. When RSI hits an extreme and the BB confirms it, the signal carries significantly more weight.

• Color-coded RSI line. Neutral, overbought and oversold zones each render in a different color automatically. No need to watch the numbers.

• 30 and 70 cross signals. Marker fires when RSI crosses back above 30 or below 70, the confirmation that momentum is shifting out of an extreme zone.

How To Use It

Watch for RSI to enter the oversold zone below 30 and simultaneously touch or break the lower Bollinger Band. That is your high-quality long setup signal. The bearish equivalent is RSI above 70 touching the upper band. Wait for the cross back through 30 or 70 as confirmation that the extreme is reversing, then use the signal marker as your entry trigger. Works best in combination with a key support or resistance level from your main chart.
