Awesome Oscillator Plus

WHAT IS IT?

Bill Williams' Awesome Oscillator measures the difference between a 5-period and 34-period SMA applied to bar midpoints. It generates buy and sell signals through three methods: zero-line crosses, twin peaks (exhaustion patterns at one side of zero), and saucer formations (continuation entries during a pullback within a trend). The standard version uses fixed SMAs with no divergence detection or signal filtering.

INDICATOR PRIME IMPROVEMENTS

Awesome Oscillator Plus implements all three signal types with rigorous structural validation. Twin peaks use confirmed pivot logic with all intermediate bars validated to stay on the same side of zero. Saucer signals require correct three-bar geometry. All signal types pass through an ADX chop filter and cooldown mechanism. A neon gradient histogram provides instant visual momentum clarity. Full regular and hidden divergence detection is built in.

HOW TO USE

Zero-line crosses are the primary entry trigger: a cross above zero while ADX is rising signals a momentum long for day trading or swing trading. Twin peaks below zero (second trough higher than the first) are early reversal signals before price has moved significantly. Saucer signals above zero are continuation entries during trend pullbacks. Watch divergences on the oscillator to catch when trend momentum is fading before the actual zero-line cross.

KIT CONFLUENCE

Awesome Oscillator Plus is the raw momentum layer of the Oscillator Kit. Combine with Aroon Plus for timing: when AO crosses zero and Aroon simultaneously confirms trend direction, the momentum flip has time-based backing. Add Smart MACD: when both MACD and AO histograms are building on the same side, the entry has the highest conviction within this kit.
